Link In American Scientist Online - Gauss's Day of Reckoning -- an otherwise excellent article -- the author thinks that an O(1) algorithm is just as good as an O(n) algorithm in these days when students do their work on laptops. This is just not true for an applied math or computer science course. What would be the appropriate term? "Innumeracy" doesn't quite capture the idea. "Inalgorithmy"? "Incomputeracy"?
